Chris Weaver Band

Organs, banjos, slide guitars, a gritty voice and straight up rock n’ roll. Hold on, country music. Here comes Chris Weaver Band.

CWB recently released their sophomore album, American Dreamer, on November 5th. The new music showcases Weaver’s soulful, gritty passion in a collection of songs that define the American fabric – determination, love, family life, faith in a higher power, and the hopefulness of the American Dream. And if you love rootsy Americana, gospel, country, blues and rock, then this band is definitely someone you should check out.

I’ve never seen him live but I know his concerts are full of dancing and good times if the opening track “Gravy Train”, “Without Chains” and the title track “American Dreamer” off his new album are any indication.

He’s just got a nice unique sound. When it comes to his slower songs, imagine a romantic R&B kind of Marvin Gaye, but still rock n’ roll type sound. As for the more upbeat songs, you get that kind of jukebox request, classic rock feel. And at the same time, some of those rock songs, with their gospel choir sound, seem they’d even be appropriately suitable for Sunday mornings.

If he was making music back when Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and them were doing it in their prime, he’d have totally fit right in with the use of catchy guitar riffs and melodies in his songs. That’s not to say that there isn’t a spot for him in today’s country music; there definitely is. With the genre ever changing, I think we need a little raspy voice and an old time rock n roll sound to come in and mix things up a bit. And the answer for that is Chris Weaver Band.

Don’t believe me? Weaver already has people talking. Billboard ranked him in the Top 10 Artists To Watch 2013.

“There is no other band on the market that sounds quite like this. They blend contemporary country with classic sounding R&B in an effortless manner.” – Billboard

The Chris Weaver Band will be touring extensively throughout the year. For updates and touring info keep checking
