Singer-songwriter Chris Young got his start in country music in a way that some fans may not realize. Chris (like Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, and Whitney Duncan, to name a few) kicked off his career on the reality singing show Nashville Star. Unlike those named, however, Chris won the title, catapulting him on to the ride of his life. After his win, Chris signed with RCA Records Nashville, releasing his self-titled debut album that same year. The project garnered two singles which hit the charts as “Hot Country Songs,” “Drinkin’ Me Lonely” and “You’re Gonna Love Me”. It was Chris’s second album though that made him a household name. The Man I Want to Be was released September 1, 2009 and, with its lead single “Gettin’ You Home (The Black Dress Song)”, ladies began to swoon, men began to thank Chris, and black dresses everywhere … well … they hit the floor. “Gettin’ You Home” climbed to Number 1, thus beginning Chris’s familiarity with the top of the chart. Following this success, his followup singles from his sophomore album, “Voices” and “The Man I Want to Be,” also claimed Number 1. With an ever-growing fan base and singles that radio loved and fans loved more, it seemed like a perfect time for Chris to hit the studio and release his third album. Neon gave us two more top notch songs, “Tomorrow” and “You,” while “I Can Take It from There” respectably broke into the Top 20. Now, Chris is hard at work pushing out singles from his fourth album, A.M., and has released three Top 5 hits, “Aw Naw,” “Who I Am with You,” and current single, “Lonely Eyes.” In early 2015, Chris will cross the pond to share his talents with Germany, Ireland, the UK, and Australia.
