Whether it’s touring or writing for his next record, Darius Rucker says its always non-stop for him. He recently told Roughstock, “I’m never really not getting ready for the next project. I’m ready to start writing and get back into the studio.”
Writing is exactly what he’s been doing over the holidays having songwriters come to his hometown. So what is arguably the most successful crossover country star’s album going to be?
He says, “A big part of me wants to make a real old-school record, but you know … even if you think you’re making an old-school record, when it’s done and after the production these days, nothing seems old-school. Country is always important to me, and it’s always going to be a country record. So that’s what I’m telling people … it’s going to be a country record.”
Hey, if he wants to make an old school album, that’s fine by me. As long as “old school” means a Hootie and the Blowfish reunion. Otherwise, just keep it country, Darius.
Rucker is getting ready to head out on his second leg of his True Believers Tour which will take David Nail and Eli Young Band out with him.
