Hunter Hayes‘ new album, Storyline, will be released on Tuesday, May 6th, and Hayes is celebrating this release by setting out to do what no man or woman has done before. Hayes has teamed up with ConAgra Foods to end child hunger, while attempting to break the world record for “Most Concerts Played in Multiple Cities in 24 Hours.”
TUDOR Watch U.S.A will be the official timekeeper for the “Hunter Hayes’ 24 Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger.” Throughout the day, Hayes will don a TUDOR Heritage Chrono timepiece and, at the end of the twenty-four hour period, the timepiece, engraved with the official race logo, will be auctioned off to raise money for Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Fans can interact regarding Hayes’ journey on Twitter using the hashtag “#HHRECORDWEEK,” as Hayes attempts to enter the Guinness Book of World Records.
We thought the best way to celebrate releasing the “Storyline” record was to play as many shows as possible and attempt to break a record or two while we’re at it,” said Hunter about the history-making event. “It’s gonna be a blast!!”
The following artists will join Hayes on his trek from city to city as he works toward a record-breaking concert day: Dan + Shay; Charlie Worsham; The Railers; Dean Alexander; and Matt Sucich. The official music playlist will be powered by “The Country Club with Dee Jay Silver.” The “24 Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger” will be launched Friday, May 9th, on Good Morning America (GMA) on ABC in Times Square. In order to break the record, Hayes will play ten shows in ten cities in twenty-four hours, as the record is currently held by the Flaming Lips with eight shows in twenty-four hours.
Other sponsors for the “24 Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger” include: TUDOR, Martin Guitar, Mercedes-Benz USA, Samsung Galaxy, Procter & Gamble, Glympse, Stop & Shop Supermarket Company, and the event is being produced and promoted by AEG Live & The Messina Group (TMG). Hayes will perform on a Martin OM-42 guitar at each show, and the guitar will be auctioned at the end of the event to benefit the cause. TUDOR will serve as the official timekeeper, Mercedes-Benz USA is the official car, and Samsung Galaxy is the official device and content partner of the “24 Hour Road Race.” Photographs and videos of the concerts and road trip will be published in real-time via social media using the hashtag #HHRecordWeek.
