North Carolina native and country music rebel Luke Combs has extended his Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour adding new dates for summer, fall and even the first part of winter. The Sony Music superstar has made major waves lately and his hardcore fans (the bootleggers) have grown tremendously in numbers. I had the pleasure of covering this tour at Merriweather Post Pavillon in Columbia, Maryland. Check out my top three reasons why you’ll want to see this tour for yourself.
1. Amazing Openers
Combs has added some compelling artists to this show. Each opening act meshes well with the entire vibe of this tour. Artists such as Lanco, Ray Fulcher, Cody Johnson, Jameson Rodgers, and even Morgan Wallen will join Combs for select dates throughout this tour.
I was lucky enough to witness two of these amazing acts. Ray Fulcher is a fresh face although he has yet to reach big time status, he is well on his way. He has a hardcore demeanor, slightly rough around the edges and people seem to dig it. He’s also one heck of a songwriter. I enjoyed his performance. He’s grown so much as an artist since I saw him two years ago. Super cool guy!
There aren’t enough words on this planet to describe how amazing Cody Johnson is. Johnson is a rare species. Vocally he’s in a class by himself. His songwriting ability is sharp and different. Johnson has this overwhelming stage presence. It’s powerful. He’s definitely one of the highlights of this tour.
2. No Gimmicks
You won’t find a whole production here. You won’t see fancy lights and a whole lot of distractions. What you see is pure talent. What you see is artistry. Each artist has an exceptional band, and the musicianship factor is uncanny. Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour is one of the very few tours where real musicians come together to make a great show with just their musical talent. This is what real country music fans want to see and this is what Combs is giving us.
3. Luke Combs
Combs is reason enough to see this tour. His set is full of back to back music, he’s fun and energetic and he’s extremely talented. He opens strong and even ends with an encore. Combs is one of these artists that you can see over and over and each time is fresh and unique. He has soul and passion. He is relatable and likable. You really get the entire package with this tour. Luke Combs has worked his ass off and if you want to see just how far he’s come… go grab a ticket for the Beer Never Broke My Heart Tour. You won’t regret it.
