[email protected] to Host Special #CountryMusic Countdown #CMAawards #CMnews

With the 48th Annual CMA Awards around the corner, there is no better time than to look back at the evolution of country music and the songs that have influenced the genre. On Monday, November 3rd, at 10:00pmET, Good Morning America’s Robin Roberts will host the CMA Awards’ sixth annual pre-CMA Awards special, “Countdown to the CMA Awards: 15 Songs that Changed Country Music.”

The spotlighted songs made the list after months of research and input from those inside the country music industry. Though the list doesn’t necessarily name the top fifteen sellers over the years, the songs are those which researchers and insiders believed had a hand in transforming country music and introducing the genre to a wider audience. Viewers will also be enlightened by behind the music stories about the selected tracks.

Those featured range from the iconic Hank Williams to chart-topping Entertainer of the Year Taylor Swift as Robin Roberts “shines a light on decades of great American music and the monumental changes that have affected how music is produced, distributed, and consumed in this digital age.” The pre-CMA Awards show will also include appearances by Luke Bryan, Keith Urban, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Rascal Flatts, The Band Perry, Florida Georgia Line and Darius Rucker and special musical tributes by Lady Antebellum, Martina McBride, Hunter Hayes and Kacey Musgraves.
